Depositing Bitcoin at Spin2U

Bitcoin at Spin2U in five facts

Is Bitcoin the right way for you to pay?

Three questions settle it, and a no to any of them points you to a different method.

  1. Do you already hold Bitcoin? If you would be buying it just to deposit, PayID is quicker and has fewer steps.
  2. Can you wait up to 30 minutes before playing? If you want to play the moment you deposit, an instant method suits you better.
  3. Will you set up PayID or a wallet for payouts? Bitcoin can't receive Spin2U winnings, so you'll need one of those regardless.

Three yeses: Bitcoin is a good fit. Otherwise, the Spin2U banking overview compares the eight other methods.

What Bitcoin is, in a paragraph

Bitcoin is digital money that moves directly between users, without a bank in the middle. Payments go to addresses rather than account numbers, and a worldwide network of computers checks each one and adds it to a public ledger called the blockchain. Coins are held in a wallet, an app or exchange account, and controlled by secret keys. Because no bank stands behind a payment, there's nobody to reverse it if it goes to the wrong place. That single fact explains most of the care in the steps below.

Words you'll see along the way

Before you press send

Your first Bitcoin deposit: keep it small

The first time, send AU$10 or AU$20. You'll see where Spin2U shows the address, how your wallet presents the fee and how long confirmation really takes, with little at stake if anything goes wrong. Use the waiting time to register a PayID or check your payout wallet, so your first withdrawal is ready when you are. Once a small deposit has worked, the next one is routine.

Sending Bitcoin to Spin2U

  1. Log in to Spin2U, open deposits and choose Bitcoin.
  2. Enter your amount: AU$10 or more.
  3. Scan the QR code with your wallet, or copy the address. Don't type it.
  4. In your wallet, check the pasted address against the Spin2U screen, start and end.
  5. Check the coin and network both say Bitcoin.
  6. Look at the network fee and the total, then send.
  7. Copy the transaction ID and keep it until the deposit shows in your balance.

After you've sent it

Your wallet will show the payment as pending. Behind the scenes, it's waiting with other payments for the network to add it to a block, which happens roughly every ten minutes on average. Once it's in a block it's confirmed, and Spin2U credits your balance. A Spin2U Bitcoin deposit normally lands within 10–30 minutes of sending.

Leave the deposit page and your wallet alone while you wait. There's nothing you need to do, and sending again won't speed it up.

The network fee, simply explained

Every Bitcoin payment pays a small fee to the network for processing it. It isn't a percentage of your deposit; it rises and falls with how busy the network is. When lots of people are sending, payments offering higher fees are picked up first, and low-fee payments wait.

For a Spin2U deposit, the wallet's standard fee is usually the sensible choice. A lower fee can stretch the wait well past 30 minutes. Spin2U doesn't set this fee, doesn't receive it and doesn't add anything on top.

Bitcoin's price and your AU$ balance

Bitcoin's value in Australian dollars changes constantly, sometimes by a lot in a day. For a casino deposit, the simplest rule is to think in dollars: decide "AU$30 tonight" and deposit that, rather than "a bit of my Bitcoin". If you hold Bitcoin as an investment, keep it separate from play money. Once your deposit is credited, your Spin2U balance is in Australian dollars, so later price moves don't change it.

What "deposit-only" means for Bitcoin players

Spin2U doesn't send payments to Bitcoin addresses, so coins only travel one way: from your wallet into your Spin2U balance. When you cash out, the money comes back in Australian dollars by PayID, Skrill, Neteller or Payz. In practice that means two things. You need one of those four set up before your first withdrawal. And if you want your winnings back in Bitcoin, buying it again is a separate step on your exchange, at that day's price.

Keep a note of each Bitcoin deposit

For every deposit, save the date and time, the AU$ amount you entered on Spin2U and the transaction ID from your wallet. If a deposit ever needs tracing, live chat can find it quickly with those three details. Over time, your notes also show what you've spent in dollars, which is harder to see when the coins themselves keep changing value.

Exchange account or your own wallet app?

Both can send a Spin2U deposit. An exchange account is quicker for a one-off: buy and send from one app, with the exchange looking after your keys and setting its own rules on where coins can go. Your own wallet app takes an extra transfer but leaves you in full control, and full responsibility: lose the seed phrase and the coins are gone. Choose the one you're more confident using.

Sending Bitcoin from your phone

Phones make Bitcoin deposits easier in one way: scanning the QR code on the Spin2U page with your wallet app avoids copying and pasting altogether. If Spin2U and your wallet are on the same phone, copy the address, switch apps, paste, and then switch back to compare the characters before you confirm. Keep the phone awake and on a steady connection until your wallet shows the payment as sent and gives you a transaction ID. After that, you can close the wallet; the network does the rest.

What can go wrong, and what to do

It's been more than 30 minutes

Open your wallet and find the payment. If it still says pending or unconfirmed, the network hasn't added it to a block yet, often because of a busy network or a low fee. It will usually confirm with more time.

Your wallet says confirmed, but your balance hasn't moved

Contact Spin2U live chat, open 24/7. Give the amount, the date and time you sent it and the transaction ID.

You sent it on the wrong network

Contact live chat straight away with the transaction ID. A payment sent on another network may not be recoverable, which is why the network check comes before you send.

The address you pasted doesn't match the screen

Stop. Don't send. Clear the field, copy the address again from the Spin2U deposit page, and check again. If it changes after pasting a second time, your device may have malicious software; don't send from it.

Wallet safety checklist

Spin2U also offers personal deposit limits that cover every method, Bitcoin included; Spin2U deposit limits explains how to set one.
